Modifications to the Agreement
We may modify this Agreement at any time by posting a revised version on this YMCA of Greater Indianapolis website (https:\\agreements.indymca.org) (“Site”). By continuing to utilize our services after any modifications are made to this Agreement, You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review these Terms of Use from time to time and to be aware of any such changes.
Membership
Membership Eligibility
With a YMCA membership, you have full access to our centers, as well as priority registration and member-only rates for programs and services. Please note that each person seeking to use portions of the facility or benefit from member-only rates must be an active member. For example, a dependent looking to utilize Play & Learn or register for swim lessons must be a named member on an active membership.
Eligibility for membership or participation in programs shall be without discrimination on the basis of race, gender, color, age, religion, national origin, disability, or ability to pay. The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis reserves the right to revoke or deny membership privileges. Membership may be revoked or denied if you:
- Abuse or misuse any YMCA owned or operated equipment or facilities
- Engage in conduct, which is abusive, illegal, and disruptive or pose a threat to the safety of others
- Engage in activities contrary to the mission and purpose of the YMCA
Note: The Center Executive Director has the authority to deny or revoke membership privileges.
Electronic Application
Individuals must complete an electronic application for membership, electronically sign a waiver, have their picture taken for their membership record and provide applicable personal data.
Financial Assistance
Financial assistance in the form of waiver or reduction of fees are available to you and your family when it is demonstrated that there is a financial need and shall be reviewed on an annual basis. Financial assistance will be subject to enrollment limitations and the financial resources of the YMCA.
Financial Assistance or Discounts Changes
If a facility member or program member has a change in the amount of Financial Assistance or eligible discounts (employee discounts or others) and are enrolled in future programs the upcoming programs rate will change based on the new Financial Assistance granted or change of discount.
Interaction with Other Members and Staff
You are expected to interact with other members and staff with caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Sex Offender Registry
The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis daily compares its membership database to the National Registry of Convicted Sex Offenders. It is our policy to terminate the membership and participation of anyone registered as a sex offender.
Membership Dues
Establishment of Membership Dues
The YMCA Executive Staff will be responsible to regularly review membership rates. Recommendations for rate changes shall be reviewed by the Association Business & Finance Committees prior to recommending to the Board of Directors for approval.
Membership Methods of Payment
Membership dues may be paid upfront on an annual basis or through a monthly bank draft or credit card draft.
Bank Draft Plan – The Bank Draft Plan is a continuous membership that does not require renewal on an annual anniversary date. Members desiring to cancel a bank draft membership must contact the Y prior to the date of the next scheduled draft.
- To begin the bank draft, a member will pay one (1) month’s membership fee.
- When a draft is failed or returned, members must pay the month refused by the financial institution. These payments should be made at the Member Service desk or online. If payment is not received, membership will be canceled.
Membership Credits/Refunds
Credits/Refunds equal to the unused pro-rated portion of the membership is granted when a membership is cancelled due to medical reasons or suspension.
If a member is dissatisfied within 30 days, a credit/refund will be issued for the membership dues and joining fees.
Any credits left on the account will expire one (1) year from the time of issue.
Membership Changes
Facility members that are enrolled in future programs and that cancel their membership or change to a non-member membership are no longer eligible for the facility member program rate. Your program rate will be converted to a non-member rate for any upcoming programs you or your household is currently enrolled in.
Membership Holds
Members can place their membership on hold for a period of time that is not less than two months or no longer than 5 months in a 12 month period.
Billing Disputes
It is the responsibility of the member to bring any billing discrepancies to the YMCA’s attention within 60 days after they first appear on financial statements. After 60 days, the member’s right to dispute any discrepancies is waived.
Facility Membership Card
A card shall be issued to each YMCA facility member ages 6 and over. The card or system verification must be shown for admission to a YMCA facility or for verifying membership when registering for programs. Any member can upload the YMCA app on their smartphone which includes a place for your YMCA barcode to be scanned at the hospitality desk.
Not Transferable – A membership card shall be for the sole use of the individual identified on the card. Members allowing others to use their card for access to facilities or program registration may be subject to loss of membership privileges.
Lost Cards – A lost card must be reported to the Center of membership origin. A replacement card can be produced at any center. The first replacement card will be issued at no charge. Any additional replacement cards will be issued at a cost of $5.
Guests
Individuals and families who are not Facility members of the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis may have access to center facilities as a guest under the terms described below:
- Members of the YMCA may host individuals and families as guests. A member may bring multiple guests for one complimentary visit After that, a day pass fee shall apply. The behavior of guests shall be the responsibility of the hosting member
- A day pass fee that is uniform throughout the Association shall be charged to obtain a guest pass. Guests can purchase an unlimited number of day passes throughout the year. Day passes may be purchased anytime during the Member Services Desk operating hours. Day and guest pass redemption is subject to change based on capacity, such as outdoor pool usage.
- All guests age 18 or older must provide a valid photo ID and sign a waiver. Guests under 18 require an adult signature.
- A guest may visit the YMCA once per calendar year with a complimentary guest pass (signed business card or special vendor fair pass)and the guest does not need to be with a member. After that, a day pass fee or a monthly membership fee shall apply
- Guest fees paid within the last 12 months will be credited towards joining fees if guest becomes a member
- Complimentary guest passes may be distributed as part of a promotion, health fairs or by designated staff. Guests visiting the YMCA will be required to show a valid photo ID when using the facility
- YMCA staff from other YMCA Associations are welcome to visit any YMCA of Greater Indianapolis facility free of charge. YMCA staff must present a YMCA membership card or YMCA Business Card along with a photo ID. This can also be accomplished through the Nationwide Membership program
Suspension and Expulsion of Members
Suspension of a Member – A member may be suspended by the Center Executive Director for up to 30 days for violation of rules, disorderly conduct, or other actions unbecoming a member.
Termination of a Member – A member may be expelled and their membership canceled by the Center Executive Director with approval from the Center Advisory Board for violation of rules, disorderly conduct or other actions unbecoming a member.
Appeals – A suspended or expelled member may appeal the decision in writing.
Ineligibility – A suspended or expelled member shall not be eligible for membership in any other center.
Reinstatement – The Center Advisory Board where the member was suspended or expelled may reinstate a member after reviewing their appeal.
Authorization for the Collection, Use, And Disclosure of Personal Information
- I authorize the use and disclosure of my personal information and data as described for the purposes indicated.
- I understand that I have the right to receive a copy of this authorization.
- I understand that I may revoke this authorization at any time by submitting my revocation in writing to the YMCA at the address listed above, except to the extent that action has already been taken in reliance on this authorization.
I hereby authorize the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis (“YMCA”), located at 6610 N. Shadeland Ave Indianapolis, IN 46220, to collect, use, and maintain my personal information (in paper and electronic formats), and to disclose (i.e., share) such personal information to the following entities for the following purposes:
