Participants will work through a sequence of appropriately leveled Reformer, mat, chair, and tower exercises. You will achieve slimmer, longer, stronger muscles without building bulk. Your endurance and energy level will improve and you will have a new, toned body. A minimum of 3 participants are required for class to run after first week.

This is a 7 Week Program. The extra week is expected to be used for any make-up sessions due to the holidays or YMCA closure.

This Veterans Day, November 11th, the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis will be hosting our Hero Challenge featuring the Hero Workout, “CHAD” 1000X.

Sara Wilkinson and GORUCK present the hero workout, “CHAD,” in honor of Navy SEAL Chad Wilkinson who took his life on October 29, 2018 due to the effects of numerous deployments, several traumatic brain injuries, blast wave injuries, and PTSD. Our goal is to not only to bring awareness to the epidemic of suicide, particularly among veterans, but also to be part of the solution as proceeds from our event will provide QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Suicide Prevention Training for veterans.

If you choose to complete the workout as an individual or team it does not matter, as our goal is to honor Heroes who have given so much to keep us free.

The Hero workout is more than a test of physical ability. It bridges the gap between the body and the mind, emotion and experience, and gives us the chance to do more than just remember our soldiers. It gives us the chance to sweat, suffer and grieve for our fallen heroes one rep at a time.

  • Who: Any and all fitness levels.  Scaling and modifications will be available
  • What: Hero Challenge feat. CHAD 1000X
  • When: November 11, 0830.  (sign in will begin at 0730)
  • Where: Multiple Centers: Avondale Meadows, OrthoIndy Foundation YMCA, Hendricks Regional Health, Irsay Family YMCA

Brief synopsis of the challenge:

The “CHAD” 1000X Workout: 1000X Step Ups completed as a team, partner, or individual for time.

3 OPTIONS:

  1. Slick //No rucksack. You pick the height of the step-ups.
  2. Standard //30#/20# rucksack. You pick the height of the step-ups.
  3. Expert //45#/30# rucksack. Use 20″ box for step-ups.
