Every Tuesday, we will host group training sessions for youth in grades 6th-12th

This will include plyometric training that will increase strength and agility and boost speed!

This four-week Spoken Word Workshop will offer a dynamic introduction to the art of spoken word poetry, where creativity meets performance. Students will learn to harness the power of words to express their thoughts, feelings, and ideas through engaging writing exercises, group activities, and performance practice. Each session will focus on developing poetic techniques, building confidence, and exploring themes that resonate with young voices. Writing and performance themes will include identity, social justice, nature and the environment, and community and connection. By the end of the workshop, participants will have crafted and performed their own original pieces, gaining valuable skills in self-expression, public speaking, and creative writing.

The Jordan Teen Advisory Board meets every other Thursday to plan events and programs for teens at the Jordan YMCA.

This group will meet with the intention of giving our teens a space to give some insight on their strengths, interest and needs. The Teen Director will work directly with this group and the community to implement new programming and participate in community projects based on the needs of the community. This group will also attend life-skill development workshops that will provide them with knowledge and skills to navigate their lives as they grow.

Location:  Fort Ben Library

Every Friday from 7pm to 10pm the YMCA will host a free Teen Lounge. This is meant to be a 3rd place for teenagers to go besides school and home. In the lounge, we will have music, food, video games, and teen resources. From 7-8pm are for ages 14-16 and 16-18 can stay until 10pm.

Join us for strategic fun and community building at the OrthoIndy Foundation YMCA! The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) is excited to partner with local teens for a special club featuring chess, checkers, and meaningful mentorship.

What to Expect:
Chess & Checkers Play: Engage in friendly competition and sharpen your strategic thinking skills with chess and checkers.
Mentorship Sessions: Connect with IMPD officers who are eager to share their wisdom, guidance, and insights into leadership and community service.
Building Community: Strengthen relationships between law enforcement and youth through shared interests and positive interactions.
Snacks & Refreshments: Enjoy light refreshments and snacks throughout the event.

This event is open to all teens interested in learning, playing, and building lasting connections with IMPD officers and peers. Come be a part of CheckMate Community
